The Royal Charter is granted in the UK to outstanding institutions in their field that meet certain criteria, and since the 1950s, one of these criteria has been that the applicant must exist not only to promote the interests of its members, but also, and above all, to promote the public interest. The Bank of England, the City of London, and the Royal Society are also examples of organisations that have Royal Charters. The possession of a Royal Charter confirms the recognition of the institution, the quality of education and that the institution has the right to award degrees.

Unlike most local educational institutions, where a course or programme can represent private vision and experience of the programme leader, Edinburgh Business School’s teaching materials are developed by leading lecturers from Edinburgh and other global business schools (London Business School, Imperial College London, INSEAD, Tulane University, Stanford Business School). These materials are used by business school students all over the world.

Academic standards and approaches of the European educational community include verified information, work with large databases, application of scientific research methods, verification and systematisation of fresh and business tools with proved record.

The study materials are focused on modern knowledge and practices, and the cases are based on examples of global corporations, British, Western European and American companies. In classes with tutors students also consider the specifics of the local business environment and particular case studies.

Unlike a classical university, students of the programme have the opportunity to form a personal ‘study route’ or ‘personal track’. It involves an individually designed study plan that meets the student’s current needs. Each student chooses which MBA course to start with, when to take a break, and with which course to continue.

According to experience, the average duration of a full MBA programme is 2.5 years. However, you can study as long or as fast as you need and according to your capabilities.

Students receive the following awards during their studies:

• 1 course – Course Completion Certificate
• 3 courses – Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration
• 6 courses – Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration
• 9 courses – Master Degree in Business Administration

At present, the MBA programme at our hub is delivered in an online format. Students have access to materials on the international platform of the business school and to an online resource with additional materials. Tutors during classes help to systematise and clarify the information received.

The business school offers a convenient study schedule for working professionals.

• Classes with a tutor are held in groups during the сourse once every 2 weeks, on Saturdays or Sundays in an online format
• Edinburgh Business School recommends investing at least 150 hours in self-study for each course. Students must read the materials before each classes to fully benefit from classes with tutors and from programme

Students take an exam at the end of each course.

The British MBA programme is taught in English. The main materials, auxiliary materials, classes with tutors are provided in English.

To master the information, it is recommended that you have an English language proficiency of IELTS 6.5 (reading). Currently, we do not require language certificates and the level of language proficiency is determined during the interview and in the motivational essay.

It should be noted that for 99% of our students, English is not their native language.
