The Multifaceted Value of an MBA

What is an MBA?

A manager with a modern MBA education also conveys a desire for constant learning and improvement of their professional skills in business management. Not to mention that successful completion of an MBA programme can lead to increased salary and business income, improved professional reputation, and expansion of business contacts network. If you aspire to make a career change, the knowledge and skills you acquire during the programme can help you overcome this challenge.

The MBA program is primarily aimed at people with higher education and managerial work experience.

Today, when businesses feel a dramatic need for leadership, professionalism, transparency, and the implementation of partnership strategies, quality international business education helps managers develop their business in line with global trends, find balanced solutions in crisis situations, while maintaining and developing teams and companies.

Is accreditation mandatory for an MBA programme?

Accreditation is additional proof to prospective students, other universities and employers that an MBA programme offers a quality education. However, not all MBA programmes are accredited and it is not mandatory.

Accreditation is awarded to Master of Business Administration programmes that meet industry standards. During the accreditation process, an MBA programme is reviewed by an external accreditation agency, depending on the country. Accreditation by an agency is not necessarily recognised by the governmental authorities responsible for education at the national level, but rather serves as an indicator of credibility for the business world.

The value and quality of Edinburgh Business School diplomas are guaranteed by Heriot-Watt University, which holds a Royal Charter and is ranked among the top 300 best universities in the world according to the QS University Ranking 2022.

The Royal Charter is granted in the UK to outstanding institutions in their field that meet certain criteria. Since the 1950s, one of these criteria has been that the applicant must exist not only to promote the interests of its members, but also, and above all, to promote the public interest. The Bank of England, the City of London, and the Royal Society are also examples of organisations that have been honored with Royal Charters. The possession of a Royal Charter confirms the recognition of the institution, the quality of education and that the institution has the right to award degrees.
